February 2025 has been an exciting and impactful month for I Am Special Consulting LLC. Last February 3, 2025, IAS participated in the rally to “Save DD Services” at the Maryland State Capitol to stand united with compassion and determination, that the programs that sustain lives and foster independence for people with disabilities should remain intact as it is currently facing devastating budget cuts. 

Additionally, on February 13, we were honored to participate in Developmental Disabilities Day at the Legislature in Annapolis, Maryland. This event, organized by the Maryland Developmental Disabilities Coalition and Ardmore, brought together advocates, families, and organizations to address proposed budget cuts that could severely impact vital services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This annual gathering serves as a crucial platform to unite voices in support of funding and resources for this community.

At I Am Special Consulting LLC, we firmly believe that every individual deserves access to services that foster independence, dignity, and a high quality of life. This is why we proudly stand alongside the Maryland Developmental Disabilities Coalition and other advocacy groups to champion policies that safeguard and enhance support systems for people with disabilities.

Why This Matters

Unfortunately, challenges such as lengthy waitlists, inconsistent funding, inequitable rights, and a shortage of skilled professionals continue to hinder access to the care and assistance they need. By advocating for robust policies and sustainable funding, we can help ensure that individuals with disabilities receive the support necessary to live fulfilling lives.
